Insurance Council of New Zealand

The Insurance Council is a member funded organisation. Its members are New Zealand insurance companies, with a desire to have an industry voice. One of the main issues that all insurance companies have involves fraud, how to predict fraud and fraudulent behaviours, and how to detect fraud.
SASIT was engaged by the Insurance Council to develop a claims register that takes all claims information from each member organisation (insurance company), and applies search and match criteria to detect possible fraudulent claims.
To ensure that the system is highly available, secure, and independent SASIT hosts the application, and all data held within the system on behalf of the Council and its Members.
Chief Executive, Chris Ryan comments
"SASIT are a crucial partner in the insurance industry's fight against fraud. Insurance fraud in New Zealand is estimated to be between $130 and $250 million dollars per annum. The ICR database is one of the main tools used by the industry to detect fraudsters and the contribution made by SASIT in the maintenance and ongoing development of the system is invaluable."
