OS/400
SASIT have a team of staff with an in-depth knowledge of the iSeries and the OS/400 operating system. There are many areas where our customers are able to utilise this expertise and we are happy to provide consulting and administration services as required.
As an example, operating system upgrades are one area of administration where we provide services for a number of different companies.
It is company policy to implement OS upgrades on our machines within 12 months of their release. The normal situation is for the first upgrade to go onto our own development environment. Once this has run successfully for a designated period, the next stage is to move our own production machines up to the next OS release, followed by our customer machines. This approach ensures that we are fully conversant with the release before it goes into production and puts us in the ideal position to provide consultancy to other companies who have less experience with the upgrade path. It also means that we are able to take advantage of all the new features in the OS and hence improve our overall service. We are happy to advise and assist other companies to get the best out of the new features.
